Dr. Chris Hansen has been a veterinarian at the Atchison Animal Clinic since June 2011. He grew up the youngest of three boys on his family's farm in Belleville, KS. He completed his primary and secondary education in Belleville, and was active in 4-H, FFA, and school sports. After graduating from Belleville High School in 2002, Dr. Hansen attended Kansas State University and graduated with a B.S. in Animal Science and Industry in 2006 and his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. In 2017 Dr. Hansen purchased Atchison Animal Clinic. In his spare time Dr. Hansen enjoys camping, fishing, and spending time with his wife Dr. Emily Hansen and their 4 children, Olivia, Leah, Connor and Cameron. His professional interests are food animal production medicine and small animal surgery.
Dr. Carrie Cowan joined the practice in the spring of 2018. She previously practiced in a pre-dominantly cow-calf practice located in Fairbury, Nebraska--and brings with her a wealth of both large and small animal expertise. Dr. Cowan attended Kansas State University for both her bachelors and doctorate training, graduating KSU-CVM Class of 2015. Carrie enjoys the variety of mixed animal practice, with special interests in equine medicine and animal behavior.
Dr. Jett Eder joined the team at the Atchison Animal Clinic in the fall of 2017, after a couple years of mixed animal practice near his family’s home in Western Kansas. Jett graduated from Kansas State University’s College of Veterinary School in 2015. Prior to his veterinary training, Dr. Eder completed his Bachelors degree in Animal Science at Oklahoma State University—where he was a member of two national champion livestock judging and meat animal evaluation teams. In the clinic, Jett enjoys working with the variety a mixed animal practice provides—with special interest in soft tissue surgery, internal and preventative medicine. With his family’s background in showpig production and training in livestock selection—Dr. Eder enjoys evaluating livestock in his spare time—especially swine, genetic selection, and places tremendous value in youth development programs that promote involvement in animal agriculture.
Dr. Curtis Concannon began working at Atchison Animal Clinic in September 2018. He is a native of Beloit, Kansas and attended college and graduate school in Manhattan. During his time at K-State, he earned his BS in Biology and his DVM at the College of Veterinary Medicine. He was also active in virology research – focused on PRRS, PED, and BVD. Curtis loves to watch football – especially the Wildcats and the Chiefs – and he is proficient in German. He also enjoys cooking and traveling to new parts of the world. Professionally, Curtis has interests in feline medicine and cardiology.
Isaac joined Atchison Animal Clinic in June 2019. He grew up in a small town in western Colorado, as the third of eight children. Isaac attained a B.S. in Biology from Benedictine College before attending and graduating from Iowa State University with his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2019. His profession interests include small ruminant medicine and small animal surgery. In his free time, Isaac enjoys outdoor activities and games with his wife, Mary, and their two sons, Clifford and Dominic.
Corinne joined Atchison Animal Clinic in May 2019. She attended Benedictine College, where she received her Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Personal Training, and Coaching. She then attended Kansas State University, where she received a second Bachelor's degree in Animal Science/Pre-Veterinary Medicine. Originally from Bonne Terre, MO, Corinne is currently living in Atchison, KS with her soon-to-be husband Bryce. They have 3 dogs, a siberian husky, Sly, and two golden retrievers, George and Angus. In her free time, she loves playing sports, hanging out with her dogs, hiking, and exploring national parks around the United States.
